Dietitian Jen Avis says experts recommend you get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night, but she says it can be tough to get that much when you’ve got a busy schedule.

By not getting the right amount of sleep, Avis says it weakens your immune system and makes you more prone to sickness and disease.

Avis says there are a few things you can do to help you fall asleep. She says eating Pistachios can give your body some extra melatonin. Avis also recommends Sleepytime Extra Tea and substituting the amino acid glycine for sugar because it can help you make you feel tired.

Glycine is a sweet alternative to sugar, and it looks exactly like granulated sugar. Avis says you can buy it online or a health food store.
