“A healthy community is a strong community.”

These sage words are the cornerstone upon which Ellen Selm has built her business, Middle Path Nutrition & Wellness Center, which joined the ranks of downtown Canton in January 2019.

As our world turns amidst the current pandemic, we see the truth of these words in action every day. Middle Path strives towards creating a healthier community by offering a natural, holistic health approach for a wide variety of lifestyle needs.

Selm’s location in Canton is home to both her products as well as a community room for classes and a window lounge with free tea.

The community space can comfortably fit between 30-40 people and is the crown jewel of her dojo, where sound therapies, yoga, performances and more are held.

The shelves of the store portion are filled with locally made herbal blend products from World Spirit Health, topical salves and balms from Sea willow Herbs, as well as national specialty brands such as Terry Naturally Products, Host Defense medicinal mushrooms and much more.

Local merchandise is found all over the store, as Selm is a fervent supporter of home-grown suppliers. Apart from health goods and community gatherings, Middle Path offers a collective of independent practitioners who provide massage therapy and acupuncture by appointment, as well as a holistic esthetician for organic skincare services.

More information about practitioners, calendar events, classes, and more are available on their website.

Selm’s community involvement spans beyond Middle Path and it’s services. She spearheaded “A Very Canton Christmas;” a local downtown business event, and also encourages performers, speakers, or individuals with unique ideas or performances to share to connect with her.

Locals are already enjoying the benefits of having a shop like Middle Path present.

“I appreciate her passion for helping others,” said customer Tracee Reeves. “We are so glad she is in Canton and has brought this health-consciousness with her to bring people together. She connects us all.”

Reeves said classes have been very informative and that Selm is very knowledgeable in her craft.

Middle Path and their practitioners appreciate that understanding and harnessing one’s inherent natural power is the strongest way to create a happy, healthy, ever-improving quality of life. By viewing an individual’s health in a complete mind-body-spirit capacity, rather than in compartmentalized terms, a more comprehensive and endearing way forward can be established with the assistance of certified practitioners and suggested products.

Middle Path presents an array of options for everyone in all phases of their life journey and is here for you and your wellness in these challenging times.
