  1. Conducting Body

NEET examination is being conducted by NTA ( National Testing Agency) ( formerly conducted by CBSE ) and AIIMS itself conducts its medical entrance.

As NEET is conducted by NTA so its official website is nta.ac.in and AIIMS Exam official website is aiimsexam.org.

Any notification cannot be confirmed regarding these exams until it is not declared on the respective website itself.

  1. Exam pattern

Here we are sharing some factors of difference in the NEET Exam Pattern and AIIMS Exam pattern.

  • Exam Duration

NEET is a 3 hours duration examination but AIIMS exam’s duration is 3 hours 30 min.

  • Number of Questions

NEET examination paper consists of 180 questions whereas 200 questions are asked in AIIMS.

NEET is completely pen and paper-based offline examination, on the other hand, AIIMS is an online ( CBT) exam.

  • Marks Range

As each question carries 4 marks for a positive answer so maximum marks for NEET exam is 720 and for AIIMS as each question carries 1 mark so the maximum marks are 200.

  • Type of questions

NEET asks only MCQ based questions and AIIMS asks MCQ as well as questions with the assertion.

  • Medium of Exam

NEET Exam is conducted in English, Hindi and 9 vernacular languages while AIIMS is conducted in English and Hindi only.

  • Marking Scheme

Below are sharing the marking scheme for NEET & AIIMS.

  1. A) For NEET Exam

a)Each correct answer carries 4 marks.

b)For each incorrect answer, 0.25% negative marking is there that means 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

For AIIMS Exam

a)Each correct answer carries 1 marks

b)For each incorrect answer, 0.33% negative marking is there.

There is no marking for answered questions in both the examinations.

4.Seat Availability

NEET provides almost 58686 seats on the contrary AIIMS provides 807 seats only.

5.Eligibility Difference

To appear for NEET Exam candidate is required

UR – 50%, OBC/SC/ST – 40%, PWD – 45% (Qualifying marks in PCB subjects for 12th or equivalent exam)

Whereas for AIIMS candidate is required-

Gen./OBC 60%,SC/ ST– 50%, PwD – 45% (Qualifying marks in PCBE subjects for 12th or equivalent exam)

  1. Exam Result Validity

NEET exam result is valid for 3 years while the AIIMS exam result is valid for 1 year only.

NEET and AIIMS provide a variety of opportunities to pursue a career in medical sciences. However, NEET is mostly targeted for MBBS and BDS but AIIMS does not provide any BDS course.
