Go on a 10-day cleanse.
In January, J.Lo and A.Rod just about broke the internet when they broadcasted on social media that they were embarking upon a 10-day “challenge” in which you cut out all carbohydrates and sugars from your diet. “This is not something you do all the time,” J.Lo told TODAY. In fact, she said that she got a sinus condition when she initially did this diet, and that makes sense.
Carbohydrates are your body’s number one source of energy, and many people get sick when they completely cut out the vital macronutrient. Sugar is the smallest unit of carbs, and is found in plenty of nutrient-rich foods, such as fruit. On top of that, we know that restriction typically intensifies cravings, which can lead to binging and overeating, and harm your relationship to food. So, while going off sugar and carbs like these two — even temporarily — might seem like an easy way to improve your health, it’s not that simple.
