About 85.9 percent of the 170 degrees and certificates handed out by National University of Health Sciences in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Lombard conferred 109 doctor’s degrees and 21 master’s degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor’s degree in chiropractic. Data shows the school gave out 79 doctor’s degrees in chiropractic, followed by 30 doctor’s degrees in naturopathic medicine/naturopathy and 24 bachelor’s degrees in general biomedical sciences.

The university enrolled 686 students for 2017-18, including 70 in undergraduate programs and 616 in graduate programs.
