PM Modi announces international ‘Sowa-Rigpa’ centre
PM Modi also focused on the Ministry latest medical system – Sowa-Rigpa. The Tibetan medicine system which is similar to Ayurveda has now its own dedicated centre, as announced by the Prime Minister. He also announced the launch of an international Sowa-Rigpa centre in Leh-Ladakh. Urging Ayush ministry to use a holistic approach for treatment, he welcomed the newest medicine system into the Ayush family.
“Focus is been given to integrating Ayush into India’s healthcare system. I Have been informed that we have recently opened our ‘Sowa Rigpa’ centre. Soon, we are planning to launch an international ‘Sowa Ripgpa’ centre in Leh-Ladakh. Ayurveda, Yog, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy and now ‘Sowa Ripgpa’ has entered into Ayush family. We have to use a holistic approach to medicine to strengthen our healthcare system,” he added.
Speaking about the benefits of Ayushman Bharat he said, “When treatment is done through roots, there is no appreciation or media coverage on it. When there was no Ayushman Bharat, the poor had to face so many problems for treatment. Treatment was expensive. Two days ago, the government has decided to launch 25 new medical colleges in the country. We are aiming at building at least one medical college in every district. This will open up 16,000 new MBBS seats throughout the nation.” This is how we do it.
