
Mancherial: Mythri Yog and Nature Cure Centre (MYNCC), in collaboration with National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN)-Pune and Mancherial Cement Company, observed the 2nd national Naturopathy Day here on Monday. Dr D Vishnu Murthy, pathologist of Indian Red Cross Society-Mancherial unit was the chief guest of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Vishnu Murthy opined that one could protect his or her body from many modern-day diseases with the help of naturopathy. He suggested that proper diet and exercise for an hour a day were important for staying healthy. He added that patients were prone to experience some side effects if they follow other medicine systems except for this drugless way of treatment.
Dr K N Sukumar and Dr P Sameera belonging to MYNCC dwelled as to how to live a healthy life naturally, on importance of nature cure in treating chronic diseases, personalised modification of diet and on lifestyle education.
They explained benefits of sunbath, mud bath, rules of nature, yoga and meditation. They empowered workers of the cement producer on precautionary measures to prevent respiratory disorders.
On Sunday, competition in preparing natural diet food including salads, juices, soups, dishes cooked with millets on the premises of the centre. Prizes were given to winners of the event. Participants were fed natural food. The event was organized in association with Marwadi Pragathi Samaj (MPS). Sub-Inspector Madusudan Rao was chief guest. Both Sukumar and Sameera created awareness among the participants on naturopathy.
Brijmohan Renwa, president of MPS and many female practitioners of yoga were present.
