Sheila Lyman

Sheila “Pat” Lyman of Interlachen, Fla., passed away on May 4, 2019, after a short battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Keene on Oct. 24, 1941, the daughter of Henry and Evelyn Gokey, and grew up in the Keene area, but had resided in Florida for nearly the past 40 years. She was a wonderful mother, always putting her kids first before anything else.

She was very health-conscious, neither being a smoker nor drinker. She had a keen interest in naturopathy and herbs. She enjoyed gardening and was very skilled with a scroll saw, having created many beautiful wood projects through the years.

She is survived by a son, Carleton Lyman; two daughters, Lauren Lyman and Christine Wheeler; a brother, Henry “Mike” Gokey; two grandchildren, Joshua Wheeler and Lauren Look and her husband, Michael; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Finn.

She will be greatly missed, especially by her kids and her longtime companion of 17 years, Paul Bishop. Her parents and a son, Darryl Lyman, passed away earlier.

Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
