Karimnagar: Health Minister Etela Rajender on Monday said Telangana was among the top three States in the country which provide quality health facilities to the poor at free of cost. The other two State are Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the Ayush hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh at Ramnagar in Karimnagar town.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajender said earlier, people would not visit government hospitals for treatment since they believed that the treatment provided in government hospitals was not good. The State government had instilled confidence among the public that government hospitals provide the best medical facilities after developing the infrastructure in the last five years, he said.

Stating that Telangana topped the country in health index, he said Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani and Naturopathy treatments were available for the poor at rates that were cheaper than that of Allopathy. Disease like joint pains, diabetis, blood pressure, paralysis, and other ailments, which do not have proper treatment in Allopathic medicine, could be cured with Ayush treatment, he said, assuring that Unani, Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Naturopathy treatments would be developed and encouraged in the State.
